Story Time + Confusion.

Hey spellreaders! So I've decided that, for each 3-chapter story I write, I'm going to put a day at the end where I read the story start to finish (and then also chat about something hopefully interesting). I decided to do the read-through, though, for a few reasons: 1) some people don't like to waste their time reading, so maybe they'd rather listen while they work; 2) some people get annoyed by the waiting game and would rather just hear it all at once rather than read it broken up into 3 days (not that they can't just read it all at once now, but then, here's the third reason...); 3) some people get annoyed that you have to scroll down for part 1 and that part 3 is at the top of the page--for this I'm sorry, but it's the blog's style and I'm just trapped in it after 3 years (i.e. I've made enough changes for one week to this blog). So yeah, that's what that little link on the bottom is. Enjoy that!

Now, on with the fun!

Look at these two logos.

Some of you may be familiar with the latter logo if you read WMD, but if you're not familiar with the first, it's REALLY understandable--that's the IQA logo... aka International Quidditch Association logo.

When I go on facebook, sometimes all I see is blue, red, and white hilarity. My newsfeed is just littered with comments from both groups, and I usually get a solid laugh from every post either of these groups throws up online (the IQA is all about planning Quidditch games; WMD is a comedy blog). BUT, my one problem is, while they are both great, sometimes the extent of how similar their logos are throw me off. I sometimes have to literally stop and scan the picture twice before I can differentiate between the two. I know this says more about me than about the similarity of the pictures, and whose to say that it matters whether Spellgirl can tell the difference between nerds and cool kids, but it matters to me, Spellgirl. And it matters because it makes me feel a bit stupid. The colors are flipped, for one; this is something I noticed right as I was making this spellpost. And I know they're both playing off the old, iconic sports logo design for any sport:

But really. Why are they all so similar?! 

Again, I'm not stupid enough to realize how both are clever in playing off this common, recognizable logo scheme. And I absolutely love both groups or else I'd just stop following one... I guess I just... well... I'm sick of my newsfeed having the logo issue every day. And neither group is at fault. They both are individuals. But I'm at fault. One should go... But neither ever will. 

This is the pain I live with.
